BACK BY MIDNITE

Back By Midnite started out as a four-piece band on August of 2002. On the 8th day of that month, three Ateneo de Davao University college girls – Dice on bass, Jehan Dumagay on guitars/vox, and Suji Mansukhani on drums – got together to jam after a talent show in one of their school classes. A day later, schoolmate Celine Lao taking on keyboards joined them in. That marked the first day of SIMPLE SHOCK, your typical girl band dishing cover songs.

JOEY AYALA

Ayala creates music that plumbs the depths of the Filipino spirit, radiating a rare authenticity and making such epithets as ethnic, alternative, and even folk all but meaningless. (After all, were all ethnic here, if you mean by the word belonging to a particular race or culture.
